What's Your Comfort as a Marketer?

February 16, 2026 BrandStorytelling, Marketing

I'm not afraid to admit that long form storytelling is my comfort zone.

It's not that I don't like thinking ideas, imagining two very different brands collaborating or something funky that could go viral. I do like that. Who doesn't?

But there's something about long form storytelling that's calming, reflective. I don't have to make it punchy to land. I don't have to compress my thoughts to make the copy "crisp." I just have to pour my thoughts in a good flow that's readable. I find that easier.

I don't have to trade words. I don't need to perform. I just write. Maybe for adding value or just sharing something. But the agenda is to connect, not perform. And for me, that's comfort.

Being honest, it does sometimes bother me. Will people read? Or will they just scroll past? Let's be honest, people are really busy and hyper-stimulated. Everywhere you look, there's content.

It does bother me.

But the ones who read, stay. Remember you. Come back.

Silver linings, I guess.

I'm still discovering what I'm better at, but the good thing is I kind of know what I like more.

What's your comfort as a marketer? Storytelling or making copies?
